VOLUNTEER

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?

  • Foster a Bostie
  • Help with lifts (pick-ups or vet runs), admin, fundraising, design or just spending some time with a rescue

WHAT DOES FOSTERING MEAN?

Bostons struggle in the shelter/kennel environment, and by opening your home to a rescue, you are helping keep them out of shelters. Fostering in a loving home environment allows us to assess their personalities and match them to the perfect home. Fosters can be in your home from anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. If, for any reason, it does not work out, we will remove the dog immediately.

Please be aware that you can foster once year or once a month, whatever works best for you. We understand that it’s hard to let fosters go to their new homes, but when you do, a space opens up for the next one. If you have fallen in love and would like to adopt your foster the adoption fee is R900 (includes sterilization and vacs) and an adoption contract will need to be signed.

Boston Rescue will pay for all vet bills (all our rescues get vaccinated, dewormed and sterilized before they are adopted) and for food, etc.

There is also a wonderful support system of volunteers who are able to assist and offer advice to foster home families, and this team is always available to lend a helping hand.

However, if you do decide that you are not quite ready to foster please keep in mind that we also need people to help with lifts, home checks, or help out at our Boston Terrier meets.

We have a WhatsApp Group per region OR we have a Facebook group you can join if you want to volunteer.

Please email us at btrescuesa@gmail.com if you want to be more involved and join us on WhatsApp.
