SURRENDER
Surrendering your Boston Terrier to BTRSA:
- Please complete this form with as much information as possible. If you surrender more than one Bostie, please complete a separate surrender form for each Bostie. Accurate information is of great importance here, as this will also determine how soon we can find a suitable home.
- Please attach a copy of their vet book with updated 5-in-1 vaccinations, proof of rabies, and kennel cough vaccine, not older than 11 months. (All pets should receive their vaccinations annually; you must have this up to date before we start the process.) We also require great photos of the Bostie. It makes all the difference!
- As part of our rehoming process, we require the sterilisation of all Bosties. We will discuss the options with you in a conversation.
- While we will do our best to assist you with the rehoming of your Bostie, it’s important to understand that rehoming can take time. We can only take a certain number of Bosties into our care at any given time. If we don’t have foster homes available, we will provide networking support to help you find a home. We do ask a R450 donation towards a Facebook advert to network your Bostie.
- Please supply a 10kg bag of dog food, a collar, and a bed for your dog should they come into our care or when they are placed in a new home.
- If you are able to find a home for your Bostie with family or friends, we can still assist with the responsible rehoming process. Talk to us about this—we will work together!
- For any immediate surrenders or assistance required, please get in touch with your nearest shelter/SPCA, who can take them in. Once in the care of the SPCA, we can then assist with networking them to find a home. We work with many shelters and SPCA’s at any given time and will support them in the process of rehoming too. Unfortunately we won’t always be able to assist with surrenders as our resources and space is limited.
- Any additional information should be emailed to us at btrescuesa@gmail.com (photos of your Bostie / microchip certificate / vet book copy). Only once we have a full profile and all their information ready, can the process of rehoming start.
Please note: Finding a new home for your Bostie can take weeks or even months. We strongly advise against leaving this process to the last minute. We can only accommodate a few Bosties at a time, so a complete profile and your support is very important in this process.
