Our Dogs

Our goal is to match every Boston with a permanent loving home through a careful adoption process. We do not adopt dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather work to make the best possible match between the needs of the dog and the lifestyle of the applicant.

Assessment of the Dog

Our rescue dogs are carefully assessed so that we can match them to the right homes. Once the foster home determines that the dog is ready for adoption, we begin the matchmaking process. If no match is found from amongst our current applications, we will then post the dogs information on our Facebook page and in our mailers.

Dogs and Kids

Generally, we do not home dogs with unknown histories to homes with kids under the age of 5. We do this for the safety of the kids, as many of the dogs that end up in rescue are not used to children or may have been abused, which makes them unpredictable. Not every dog is right for children, and not every child is right for a Boston. Boston’s can be boisterous and can easily knock a toddler over.

A dog can be a child’s best friend and Boston Terriers are no exception. Dogs that are properly trained and well socialised make safe, reliable and fun loving companions.

Only Boston’s with a positive, proven history that have lived happily with children will be placed in a home with dog-savvy kids.

Handsome Tommy is wonderful with small children. He is gentle and patient with them. He is a well-behaved, playful, happy boy who is good in the car and enjoys his walks. He knows sit, come, bed and settle. Tommy just LOVES people. He is friendly with everyone he meets.

Tommy greatest wish is for someone who works from home or who is home a lot to adopt him. Oh and a small garden to sunbathe in would be nice to. He promises to make the best companion ever. His foster mom works from home and his favorite spot is under her desk.

He needs a home with no other dogs or cats. This lovely gentleman has just turned 6yrs old- it really is not that old so please consider opening your home and heart to Tommy.

Balthie is a playful, obedient, loving dog. He is 4yrs old and is a big Boston boy (weighs aprox 18kg)
‘I am shy at first but once I get to know you I just adore loves and cuddles. I have been staying with my foster mom, Anesta, for month so she can tell you all about me to make sure that I am the right match for you.

I am scared of sudden movements and loud noises so a home with no children under 12 is best. I do enjoy going for walkies and don’t want to be left alone without any attention for too long. I also sit beautifully for treats. I would be happiest in a home with no other pets.’

Just LOOK at this stunning pair, ONLY 3YRS OLD!!
Sweethearts since puppyhood, Roxy are Stefans are hoping to be homed together. Stefans only has eyes for his beautiful Roxy so how could we possibly split them up. They are in excellent health and love to play. They lost their home when their owners landed on hard times.

They dream of a home with a large garden, possibly even a plot or farm as they are the type of dogs that need a lot of space to run, explore and suntan in. Active owners would be wonderful and someone who is willing to throw ball and play with them. They are not used to small children so a home with older children would be better suited to them.

They can be homed with a small breed female dog that is social and friendly to other dogs. We do not know how they are with cats.
PS: Stefans thinks laundry hanging from the washline is a doggy game. He likes to swing from the pillowcases and sheets (he thinks he is Tarzan) and pull it off the line. A separate laundry area would be a good idea!
